Asian Games 2018: The Badminton Core Team Defined, It Lists

PBSI has formed 20 badminton athletes who entered the core team at the Asian Games 2018. They consist of 10 men and women players.

Badminton branches will be played at Senayan Palace on 19-28 August 2018, consisting of male team, women team and individual team number.

In the men’s doubles player list is the name of Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto who gained the confidence to take on the task both in team and individual numbers. Both are preferred over Hendra Setiawan / Mohammad Ahsan.

While Ricky Karanda Suwardi / Debby Susanto finally elected with a mixed doubles couple, Tontowi Ahmad / Liliyana Natsir.

Head of Development and Achievement PBSI, Susy Susanti, said the selection of the squad has been through various considerations.

“For Ricky / Debby, because we hope they are more consistent, focused and responsible for the task they play in the Asian Games,” said Susy. “Regarding Dawn / Rian, we judge that their achievements are better than others, especially in 2018.”

In addition, there are only three men’s singles players in the core team. That is, there is no single male backup player in team matches. “Because these names are on the long list and are entitled to play.Automatic backup should be ready to play double and single doubles on the team,” said Susy.
