Zero Complaint of Delay, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Service Praised

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi praised the service of homecoming and reverse flow at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

According to Budi, there are no complaints related to the delay of the plane and on-time performance at the airport is still above 77 percent.

“It’s a good achievement. Coordination between Airnav, Angkasa Pura II, and the airline is very good,” said Budi at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tuesday, June 19.

Budi stated that he has monitored Airnav’s performance during the period of 2018 Eid Day. He mentioned that in every hour, there are 83 aircraft movements that take-off or landing at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Airnav officers are only given 1.5 minutes for each aircraft movement.

“They are only given 90 seconds to take off after another plane landing or vice versa. This requires extraordinary accuracy,” said Budi.

Budi noted the increase of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport occurred at 6.35 percent compared to last year. As of Monday, June 18, the total passenger plane reached 2,390,501, up from 2,247,687 in 2017.

The increase is greater than expected by four percent. The reverse flow has started on Tuesday, June 19. The number of homecomers is predicted to be evenly about 200,000 passengers per day.

Director of Airnav Safety, Security and Standardization, Yurlis Hasibuan, added that the movement of the highest number of aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta Airport occurred on D-2 of 2018 Eid Day. At that time, there were 1,397 airplane movements in a day.
