Indonesia Set for Uber Cup Quarterfinals with Eye on Thailand’s Ratchanok

Indonesia is ready to face the powerful Thai squad in the Uber Cup women’s quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon in Bangkok.

In addition to facing pressure from the opponent’s home crowd, the Indonesian contingent is also keeping an eye out for Thailand’s top singles shuttler and world No. 4, Ratchanok Intanon.

“In general, our players are all ready to meet any opponent [in this tournament], including our host Thailand,” team manager Susy Susanti said following the quarterfinals draw early on Thursday.

“[Our chances of winning] are equal. Home support could be beneficial for the host players, but could also backfire. We’re in the [race] together, but Ratchanok stands out in the squad,” she added.

Indonesia is scheduled to play against Thailand at the IMPACT Arena at 2 p.m. Bangkok time. TVRI will air the match series for Indonesian viewers.
